На днях мы сообщали о том, что компания Google приобрела весьма перспективный британский стартап DeepMind, занимающийся разработками искусственного интеллекта. Сумма сделки составила весьма впечатляющие 500 миллионов долларов, особенно если учесть, что DeepMind состоит всего из 75 сотрудников. Зачем Google его купила?

Когда в Сети появилась новость об этой сделке, различные новостные ресурсы в большинстве согласились, что Google купила британскую компанию для того, чтобы она влилась в коллектив подразделения робототехники, управляемого Энди Рубином. Однако у источника, собственно и сообщившего о данной сделке, другое мнение на этот счет.

Портал Recode.net считает, что DeepMind не будет работать ни над какими роботами и не присоединится к команде Энди Рубина. Вместо этого британский стартап вольется в коллектив команды Джеффа Дина, главы отдела Google Search, где DeepMind займется работой по интеграции системы искусственного интеллекта в систему поиска Google.

Впрочем официальных сведений о том, чем на самом деле будет заниматься DeepMind пока к сожалению нет, Google сохраняет молчание. Однако как было уже объявлено ранее, перед своей покупкой DeepMind работала над искусственным интеллектом для игр, умной системой рекомендаций для онлайн коммерции, а также с чем-то связанным с работой над изображениями. В любом случае под крылом Google этой перспективной команде найдется чем заняться.
